🤝 Sequatchie County Seeks Two More Mentors to Support Students After High School

As local students prepare for life after graduation, a workforce development initiative is reaching out to community members who want to make a direct impact on their futures. tnAchieves is actively recruiting volunteer mentors in Sequatchie County to guide high school students through the critical transition to work, college, or career training.

📍 What tnAchieves Does

tnAchieves connects mentors with students during a pivotal moment-the years immediately following high school. Mentors provide encouragement, guidance, and real-world perspective as young people navigate post-secondary pathways. The program recognizes that personal support from someone in the community can be transformative when students are deciding their next steps.

⭐ The Need in Sequatchie County

The organization is looking for two additional volunteer mentors to serve students in Sequatchie County. Jessica Wilkey, a tnAchieves workforce mentor, is leading the local recruitment effort and emphasizes that mentors don’t need special credentials-just a willingness to listen, encourage, and share their own experience. “Your encouragement could make a real difference,” Wilkey noted in reaching out to the community.

💡 How to Get Involved

Community members interested in becoming a mentor or learning more about the program can reach out directly. Interested volunteers should email Ben at ben@tnachieves.org to discuss the role, time commitment, and how mentorship works in practice.

Those who know someone who might be a good fit are also encouraged to share the opportunity within their networks. ✨
