💙 Pikeville Community Remembers Ryan, EMS Responder and Friend

🏥 A Friend Beyond the Uniform

The team at Dexter’s Barber Shop in Pikeville has shared a heartfelt tribute to a customer and friend whose presence meant more than a regular visit-a reminder of how small-town bonds often run deepest in moments of crisis and care.

Ryan, who worked with Bledsoe County EMS, was remembered not only for his profession but for the compassion he showed beyond it. In 2022, when a local family faced a frightening horse accident involving a child, Ryan responded with both professional skill and human kindness. The barbershop owners recalled how he cared for the injured daughter while also taking time to calm a worried parent during an overwhelming situation. 🏥

❤️ A Pillar of the Community

“Ryan wasn’t only a customer but a friend,” the shop wrote in their tribute. His regular presence at the barbershop-a gathering place where neighbors catch up and community bonds strengthen-made his loss felt across Pikeville. The owners, Aimee and Dexter, along with Kassi, extended their condolences to Ryan’s wife, children, and family. ❤️

In small communities, the people who serve often become woven into the fabric of daily life. EMS responders, like Ryan, carry the weight of emergencies while also being neighbors, customers, and friends. His willingness to show up for others-both in uniform and in the everyday moments at a local barbershop-reflects the kind of quiet heroism that defines rural Tennessee communities.
