🧹 Make Your Own Broom Workshop Comes to Wheeler's Orchard & Vineyard

Wheeler's Orchard & Vineyard in Dunlap is hosting a hands-on broom-making workshop this Saturday, bringing traditional Appalachian craft skills to families and community members looking for a seasonal activity with real takeaway value.

📅 Workshop Details

The broom-making workshop takes place Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Wheeler's Orchard and Vineyard on Wheeler Road in Dunlap. The event welcomes all ages-moms, dads, sisters, brothers, grandmas, kids, and grownups-to learn and create together. ✨

🎓 What You’ll Learn

Instructor Wendy Lee will teach participants how to tie broomcorn in the traditional Appalachian style. All necessary materials are provided, so attendees arrive ready to work and leave with a finished broom they’ve made themselves. The workshop is designed as a hands-on learning experience, not a passive demonstration-each participant creates a broom to take home. 🌾

💰 Cost and Registration

The workshop costs $40 per broom. For more information or to register, text 207-649-2937. The event is co-hosted with Sister Moon Goods, a local Dunlap retailer. 📞

🍂 Why Now?

Timed for the Halloween season, the workshop taps into both the practical appeal of handmade brooms and the festive spirit of fall. It’s an opportunity for families to step away from screens, learn a heritage craft, and connect with the working landscape of a local farm. 🎃
