The University of Tennessee Chattanooga College of Nursing is bringing its Mobile MOC free health clinic directly to the Sequatchie Valley during the second week of October, offering comprehensive wellness exams and preventative care to adults across Marion and Sequatchie counties-no insurance required, no cost.

๐๏ธ How to Attend
The clinic welcomes anyone 18 and older. Appointments are encouraged-call 423-425-1657 to schedule. Walk-ins are also welcome based on schedule availability, so if you can’t book ahead, you can still stop by during clinic hours.
Cost: Completely free. Insurance is not required, and no payment is expected. The clinic serves uninsured and underinsured adults across ten Tennessee counties as part of UTC’s public health mission.
๐ก Why This Matters for the Valley
Access to preventative healthcare can be a real challenge in rural communities. Many valley residents work jobs without health insurance, live on fixed incomes, or face transportation barriers to distant clinics. Mobile MOC removes those obstacles by coming directly to familiar community spaces-senior centers and local neighborhoods-where residents already gather. ๐ค Early detection of chronic diseases, wellness screenings, and preventative care can prevent costly emergency visits and help people stay healthier longer.
For older adults in particular, memory screenings and fall-risk assessments can identify safety concerns before they become serious injuries. For anyone managing diabetes, high blood pressure, or other ongoing conditions, a free check-in with a nursing professional can make a real difference in staying on track.
๐ Community Connections
This clinic visit strengthens an existing partnership between UTC’s College of Nursing and valley communities. By using established gathering spaces like senior centers, Mobile MOC taps into existing community trust and makes healthcare feel accessible rather than intimidating. For residents who already visit senior centers for activities, meals, or social connection, adding a health screening to the same trip removes one more barrier to care.
โ Questions Worth Asking
- Do you have a chronic condition that could benefit from a free wellness check before winter?
- Is there an older adult in your life who might appreciate a memory or fall-risk screening?
- Do you know someone without insurance who has been putting off a health visit?
- Could you help a neighbor get to one of these clinic times?
