🎂 Fredonia Mountain Community Center Celebrates Birthday and Homecoming in Dunlap

The Fredonia Mountain Community Center in Dunlap is marking a special dual celebration this fall, combining a community homecoming with observance of America’s 250th birthday. The event brings together neighbors and local history in a way that reflects the valley’s deep roots and forward-looking spirit.

🎉 What to Expect

On October 17, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m., the community center at 5242 Fredonia Road will host a patriotic mid-afternoon snack and dessert bar alongside classic games and activities. Attendees can enjoy old-timey fun with yo-yos, ring toss, hopscotch, and string games, creating a multigenerational gathering space where families can reconnect and neighbors can celebrate together. 🎪

📍 Community History on Display

The celebration will feature storytelling about the history of Fredonia Mountain, offering residents and visitors a chance to learn about the area’s past. Fire engines will be on display for children and families to explore, and Eagle Point Railroad will showcase displays and history of the historic railroad line. ✨ These elements weave together local heritage with the broader American milestone, grounding the nation’s 250th birthday in the specific stories and landmarks that define the Sequatchie Valley.

👥 Fun for All Ages

The event is designed as a community gathering where neighbors of all ages can spend time together, reinforcing the social bonds that hold rural communities strong. Whether families are drawn by the games, the food, the history, or simply the chance to see friends and extended community members, the afternoon offers something for everyone. 🌄
