Couch Potato to 5K Summer Program Launches This Thursday at Spencer City Park
The Van Buren County Prevention Coalition is kicking off its new Couch Potato to 5K walk and run summer program this Thursday, May 28, at 6:00 p.m. at Spencer City Park. The reopened park will serve as the perfect venue for this inclusive fitness initiative designed to help community members of all fitness levels get active this summer.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or someone looking to increase your physical activity for the first time, this program welcomes everyone. The focus is on building fitness, practicing self-care, and having fun during the summer months. Participants will have the opportunity to walk or run alongside experienced coaches Bubba Madewell, Paula May, and Kelly Lewis, who will provide guidance and encouragement throughout the program.
This is the first meetup of the Summer Self-Care series, making it an ideal time to join and connect with other community members committed to their health and wellness. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to participate.
Interested in attending? Text 931-808-2777 to let the organizers know you’re coming. This will help them prepare for the group and ensure everyone has a welcoming experience.
