Community Caregiver Support Group Launches in Chattanooga β First Meeting June 16th π
As more families in the Sequatchie Valley and surrounding areas take on caregiving responsibilities for aging relatives and loved ones, a new peer support initiative is stepping in to address the emotional and practical challenges that often go unspoken. The Community Caregiver Support Group, hosted by 1st Priority Homecare in partnership with the Priority Foundation, will hold its inaugural meeting this month.
π The first meeting takes place on Tuesday, June 16th at 6:00 PM at the Family Justice Center, 5705 Uptain Road in Chattanooga, TN 37411. The group is designed for anyone currently caring for a loved one at home or coordinating care for a family memberβwhether you’re managing day-to-day tasks, navigating medical decisions, or simply seeking understanding from others in similar situations. π₯
During meetings, caregivers will have the opportunity to connect with peers, share their experiences, receive encouragement, and learn about helpful resources and support services. π€ A chaplain will be present to provide spiritual and emotional support to the group. The organizers emphasize that caregiving can feel isolating and overwhelming, and this safe, supportive space is intended to ensure no one walks that journey alone.
β¨ Attendance is open to all family caregivers in the region. If you know someone who might benefit from peer support and shared resources, you’re encouraged to invite them to attend. For more information or questions about the group, contact 1st Priority Homecare through their Facebook page or reach out directly to the Family Justice Center. π
