Community Benefit Event Set for June 6 to Support Larry Scott’s Medical Bills
The Van Buren County community is invited to a benefit event on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Burritt College Building in Spencer, Tennessee. The event will raise funds to assist with unpaid medical bills, and organizers are moving forward with the celebration as a way to honor Larry Scott’s memory.
The benefit will feature a variety of activities and food throughout the afternoon and evening. A BBQ plate dinner will be available from 3 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) for $10 per plate, which includes a BBQ sandwich, baked beans, chips, and dessert. A cake walk will run from 3 to 4 p.m., with each walk costing $1. Bingo games will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., with cards available for $5 each. A silent auction will also run throughout the event, beginning at 3 p.m., with final bids accepted at 6 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will go directly toward helping with medical expenses. Community members interested in participating, donating items for the silent auction, or learning more details are encouraged to contact one of the event organizers: Reba Delong, Melissa Seibers, Gigi Lewis, or Brittany Bentley.
This is a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to come together, enjoy food and games, and support a member of the community during a time of need.
