Community Benefit Auction and Taco Salad Meal Set for June 27 to Support Local Boy’s Medical Care
The Van Buren County community is invited to come together on June 27, 2026, for a benefit auction and taco salad meal designed to support Bentley Moore’s ongoing medical needs. The event will be held at Burritt College, located at 427 College Street in Spencer, Tennessee.
The evening will feature two main components. A taco salad meal, which includes a salad, drink, and dessert, will begin at 3:00 PM and costs just $10 per person. Following the meal, a live auction will commence at 5:00 PM, featuring donated items from local community members and businesses. A raffle will also be part of the festivities.
Bentley Moore is battling Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a rare genetic disease that affects the nervous system by destroying the protective covering around nerves. The disease has significantly impacted Bentley’s mobility and independence. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward Bentley’s medical care and daily needs.
The community can support this cause in several ways. Donations for the live auction can be dropped off at Caney Fork in Spencer, Brady Printing in Sparta, or by contacting organizers including Tracy Hale Stafford, Tonya Roberts Pettit, Reba Delong, Whitney Hale, Peyton Bouldin, or others in the community. Food donations for the meal are also welcome.
For more information about the event, interested community members can contact Destiny Guy at 931-316-4311, Tracy Stafford at 423-987-5096, or Reba Delong at 931-743-5215.
