🍽️ Free Food and Clothing Giveaway in Sparta – Wednesday, September 9th

Community support runs deep in Sparta and across the Sequatchie Valley, where local churches regularly open their doors to neighbors in need. Bon Air Mountain Community Church is continuing that tradition this week with a food and clothing giveaway that welcomes everyone.

On Wednesday, September 9th, from 10:00 AM to Noon, Bon Air Mountain Community Church will distribute free food and clothing to anyone who needs it. 🤝 The church’s pavilion will be open, and organizers ask that visitors use the back door and bring a bag if they have one to carry items home. The giveaway will continue while supplies last, and no one will be turned away.

📍 Where to Go

The event takes place at Bon Air Mountain Community Church, located at 6389 Crossville Highway in Sparta, Tennessee. The pavilion provides shelter, and the back-door entrance makes it easy for families and individuals to access the giveaway.

🗓️ When

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 9th, 10:00 AM-Noon. This is described as a regular community service, so residents may want to check back with the church for future dates as well.

✨ Why This Matters

Food and clothing insecurity affect families across rural Tennessee, and community-led giveaways like this one reduce barriers to access. 💙 By offering both essentials at one location, Bon Air Mountain Community Church removes the need for residents to travel to multiple places or navigate complex application processes. The “while supplies last” approach also reflects the church’s commitment to serve as many neighbors as possible with available resources.

❤️ Who Should Come

This giveaway is open to everyone-families with children, seniors, individuals facing temporary hardship, and anyone in the community who could use support. The church’s message is clear: all are welcome. If you know someone who might benefit, consider sharing this information with them or offering to go together.

🌟 Community Connections

This giveaway reflects a broader network of churches and community organizations across the Sequatchie Valley and nearby areas that work together to support neighbors. Similar efforts by groups like the Sequatchie County Fellowship of Churches and Food Bank in Dunlap show that mutual aid and generosity are woven into the fabric of local life. When one church opens its doors, it strengthens the entire community’s sense of belonging and care.

💭 Questions Worth Asking

• How can neighbors who can’t attend during these hours still access support?
• Are there volunteer opportunities to help sort, pack, or distribute items at future giveaways?
• What items are most needed, and how can community members donate to support these efforts?
• Will this giveaway continue regularly, and if so, on what schedule?

If you or someone you know needs food or clothing support, plan to visit Bon Air Mountain Community Church on Wednesday morning. Bring a bag, arrive anytime between 10 AM and Noon, and use the back door. 🙌 This is a no-questions-asked community service-you belong there.
