🗡️ Edgar Allan Poe Gothic Murder Mystery Dinner in Sweetwater – October Dates Now Open

The Whistlestop Manor, a historic Sweetwater landmark established in 1859, is transforming its candlelit halls this October into a hauntingly immersive experience inspired by the dark tales of Edgar Allan Poe. For residents of the Sequatchie Valley and surrounding communities seeking a distinctive autumn evening-one that blends fine dining, theatrical intrigue, and genuine suspense-this murder mystery event offers a rare opportunity to step into a Gothic world where guests become active participants in an unfolding mystery.

🗓️ When It’s Happening

The Whistlestop Manor is hosting multiple dates throughout October 2026. October 2 (Friday) is already sold out, but several other dates remain available: October 3 (Saturday), October 23 (Friday), October 24 (Saturday)-with only 6 spots left-and October 30 (Friday). Each event runs for 2.5 hours of interactive mystery and dining. 🎭

📍 Where

The Whistlestop Manor, located in Sweetwater, Tennessee, serves as the atmospheric setting for this Gothic experience. The venue’s historic character and candlelit ambiance create an authentic backdrop for the mystery to unfold.

✨ What to Expect

Unlike traditional dinner theater with professional actors, this event places you at the center of the story. 💀 Guests will receive costumes from the manor’s on-site costume room-which accommodates sizes XS through 4X-and will actively participate in solving the mystery as it unfolds. The evening includes appetizers, a gourmet dinner, dessert, and beverages, all woven into the narrative experience. The tagline promises that “someone won’t survive the night”-and the mystery is designed so that participants themselves may become suspects or victims as the plot develops.

🎟️ Ticket Details & Pricing

General admission is $85 per guest. For those who want to extend the experience, luxury overnight suites are available at $205 for two guests, which includes a homemade breakfast the following morning. Additional guests in the same suite are $65 each, and large suites can accommodate up to four guests. 🏰

💡 Why This Matters to the Community

The Whistlestop Manor‘s murder mystery events represent a growing trend in experiential entertainment-where locals and visitors seek memorable, interactive experiences rather than passive entertainment. For the Sequatchie Valley region, this event draws attention to a historic local landmark and creates an opportunity for residents to host out-of-town guests or plan a distinctive date night without traveling far. The event also demonstrates how established community businesses can innovate and offer seasonal programming that strengthens their role as gathering places. 🌟

❤️ Who Should Attend

This experience appeals to mystery enthusiasts, couples seeking a unique date night, groups of friends looking for interactive entertainment, and anyone drawn to Gothic literature and atmosphere. The event is designed for adults who enjoy theatrical participation and aren’t afraid to embrace a costume and play a role in an unfolding mystery. Families with older teens interested in mystery games and creative storytelling may also find it engaging.

📞 How to Reserve Your Spot

To book your ticket or inquire about availability, contact the Whistlestop Manor at (423) 271-6380.
