Sequatchie County Public Library partnered with a local ice cream shop to bring a magical evening to families in the community, combining the beloved world of Harry Potter with sweet treats and shared memories.

✨ A Night of Magic and Community

The library recently hosted “Wizards, Wands & Waffle Cones,” a Harry Potter-themed Family Fun Night at Udder Yum Ice Cream Shoppe in Dunlap. 🍦 The event drew families together for an evening centered on the popular book and film series, offering a creative way to blend literary interest with community gathering and ice cream enjoyment.

🎉 What’s Next for Themed Family Nights

The library has signaled that this themed event is part of a larger series. 👀 Organizers are already planning additional Themed Family Nights and encouraging community members to stay tuned for announcements about upcoming events. The library’s partnership approach-bringing programming to local businesses rather than limiting activities to the library building-expands access and strengthens ties between institutions serving families in Sequatchie County.

💛 Why It Matters

Family-centered programming helps libraries remain vital community anchors, especially when they collaborate with local businesses. Events like this create informal learning environments where children and adults can enjoy literature-inspired activities together, while also supporting local commerce and building neighborhood connections. For families in the area, these themed nights offer affordable, engaging alternatives to screen time and provide opportunities to discover new community gathering spaces.
