🤖 Mechanical Masterminds After School Robotics Club Launches in Signal Mountain

Young builders and future engineers in the region now have a hands-on opportunity to explore mechanical engineering through robotics this fall. Mountain Arts Community Center is opening registration for its Mechanical Masterminds After School Robotics Club, welcoming students ages 7-12 to dive into the world of motors, gears, and creative problem-solving.

⚙️ What Students Will Build and Learn

The program invites participants to explore mechanical engineering through direct experience with robotics. Using motors, gears, axles, and other components, students will build robots, tackle hands-on challenges, play games, and compete in friendly competitions. The structure encourages both creativity and technical skill-building-each session introduces new robot designs and mechanisms, giving returning students fresh projects to tackle alongside newcomers.

According to the program description, the club is designed to help young participants build engineering skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence. The emphasis on experimentation and design means students aren’t just following instructions; they’re encouraged to think critically and create unique mechanisms of their own.

🗓️ When and Where

The Mechanical Masterminds club meets on Thursdays from October 22 through November 19, running from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. The program is held at Mountain Arts Community Center, located at 809 Kentucky Ave in Signal Mountain, Tennessee.

💡 Registration and Cost

Registration is open for the eight-week session. The program costs $150 for the full run. Interested families can register through the Mountain Arts Community Center website at signalmacc.org/learning-technology

Both new and returning students are welcome to join, making it an accessible entry point for families exploring robotics programs for the first time or a natural continuation for those already engaged in hands-on learning.
