🎀 Local Depot Rallies Community Behind Young Fighter Facing Leukemia

When a child in the community faces an unexpected health crisis, local businesses often step up-and this October, Local Depot on Rankin Avenue is channeling customer support directly to a family in need. The gift shop is dedicating a full month of sales to help ease the financial burden on a one-year-old battling leukemia.

๐Ÿ’™ A Bow Customer’s Battle

One of Local Depot‘s young customers is facing leukemia at just one year old. The diagnosis brings not only emotional weight but significant medical expenses for the family navigating treatment and care. Recognizing the weight of that journey, Local Depot and The Blue Daisy-a bow brand carried at the shop-decided to turn October into a month of meaningful support.

โค๏ธ How the Fundraiser Works

Throughout October, 40% of all sales from The Blue Daisy product line will be donated directly to the child’s family to help cover medical expenses and related costs. Customers who feel called to give additional support can also make direct donations through Venmo to Kayla Horton (@kaylahorton4), whose name appears on the fundraiser materials.

Local Depot is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 15652 Rankin Avenue in Dunlap. Every bow purchase, donation, and prayer shared during October becomes part of a larger community embrace around a family facing an uncertain road.

๐Ÿค Community Care in Action

Fundraisers like this one reflect how small-town businesses and their customers often become extensions of family support systems. By shopping at Local Depot this month, residents aren’t just buying a product-they’re participating in a tangible act of care for a neighbor in crisis. The campaign reminds the community that even in the hardest moments, local connections matter.
