🎉 Free Fall Festival Comes to Whitwell Mountain with Live Music, Pie Competition & Community Spirit

Miners Memorial Park is launching a free community event series this fall, bringing neighbors together on Whitwell Mountain with live entertainment, family activities, and locally made food-all while supporting the Whitwell Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.

πŸ“ What’s Happening This Saturday

The first event in the series, “Pie, Picnic, and Play,” takes place Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Camp Chet (5050 Pocket Road, Whitwell, Tennessee). The day features live music from New Grass Express performing from 10 a.m. to noon, children’s activities, hay rides, and locally made BBQ. ✨ Best of all-admission and all activities are completely free.

πŸ₯§ Pie Tasting Competition & Community Recipes

Residents are invited to submit homemade pies to compete in a community tasting competition. πŸ† Voting runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the winner receives a prize. It’s a chance for families to showcase their favorite recipes and celebrate local culinary tradition.

❀️ Supporting Local First Responders

All food proceeds from the event benefit the Whitwell Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, connecting community gathering with direct support for local emergency services. The partnership reflects how Miners Memorial Park is using its space to strengthen ties across the valley.

🀝 Part of a Larger Vision

This event is part of a broader fall event series organized by Miners Memorial Park in collaboration with Thrive Regional Partnership and Trust for Civic Life. The organizers hope these free gatherings will help the community feel “closer together than ever” during the season ahead.
