🎤 Free Comedy Shows & Talent Competition in Hixson & Soddy Daisy — Lakeside’s Got Talent & New Open Mic Series

As the Sequatchie Valley region continues to build its live entertainment scene, local comedian and show producer Hope Smith is stepping up to bring more laughs and creative opportunities to Hixson, Soddy Daisy, and surrounding communities. Her grassroots effort is expanding the comedy landscape with both competitive and open-mic formats—all free to attend.

🎭 What’s Happening

Hope Smith is launching two exciting comedy initiatives this summer. 🎉 The first is Lakeside’s Got Talent, a weekly competition open to both singers and comedians, running every Thursday through July 23rd at New York Pizza Department. Comedians perform 10-minute sets, while singers deliver 2 songs (singers without live instruments should bring MP3 tracks ready to go). The second is a brand-new adult comedy open mic at Sweet Melissa’s, featuring Smith’s host set, a featured headliner comedian, and open spots for comics of all experience levels.

🗓️ When & Where

Lakeside’s Got Talent: Every Thursday through July 23rd at New York Pizza Department. Sign-ups begin at 6:30 PM; show starts at 7:00 PM. 📍

Sweet Melissa’s Comedy Open Mic: Launches July 19th, then continues on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. Sign-ups at 6:30 PM; show starts at 7:00 PM. 📍
