A new small business is bringing affordable home improvement and landscaping services to the Dunlap community, offering residents an alternative to costly contractors for projects they might otherwise put off.

Thomas Stodgell, owner and operator of Stodgell Services, launched his business at the beginning of 2026 with a mission to serve homeowners who struggle to find affordable solutions for property maintenance and improvement work.

“I started this business in hopes to provide a multitude of services to people that can’t afford the Big Companies price tag,” Stodgell explained in a recent community post. “I’m a small outfit with a mission to take care of folks.”

The business specializes in grading, landscaping, trenching, and deck construction and repair. Stodgell emphasizes that he takes on projects that larger companies often decline due to perceived low profitability.

“I take on all the jobs that other companies throw a massive price tag on because they just don’t wanna do it cause they don’t think it’s worth their time,” Stodgell said. “Well I do.”

According to Stodgell, his pricing model focuses on affordability and transparency. He does not charge inflated material costs and works to find budget-friendly solutions tailored to each customer’s needs.
