Watercolor Painting Workshop with Nela Bishop Swiney — Rocky Mountain Landscape Techniques Next Month

As creative workshops continue to flourish across the Sequatchie Valley this season, local artist Nela Bishop Swiney is inviting community members to deepen their artistic skills through hands-on instruction in watercolor fundamentals and landscape painting.

Swiney recently completed a successful watercolor session focused on color theory and foundational techniques, where participants explored how to mix hues, build dimension, and transform simple shapes into three-dimensional forms. The workshop emphasized the core principles of line, shape, and form—essential building blocks for anyone looking to develop their artistic practice.

The next workshop will shift focus to landscape painting, with participants learning step-by-step techniques to capture the majesty of Rocky Mountain peaks and the depth of horizons. Swiney guides students through the process of bringing natural scenery to life on the page, combining the technical skills covered in previous sessions with landscape-specific approaches.

Those interested in joining the upcoming workshop can sign up and find additional details at nelarenae.com. The sessions are designed for artists of varying experience levels who want to explore watercolor painting in a supportive, instructional environment.
