Free ‘Run Pain Free’ Workshop in Hixson — June 13 for Runners Dealing with Injury

As running continues to grow as a popular fitness outlet across the Sequatchie Valley and surrounding communities, local runners are increasingly seeking expert guidance on injury prevention and form. This free workshop addresses a common challenge for active runners in the region who want to stay on the trails without relying on medication or surgery.

Dr. Chase Helgren, a physical therapist at Bounceback Physical Therapy inside LIFT Gym in Hixson, will host a free “Run Pain Free: Chattanooga Running Pain Workshop” on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 AM. The 60-minute session is capped at 20 runners and targets anyone experiencing nagging back, hip, knee, ankle, or foot pain while running.

The workshop will cover the root causes of running injuries, a simple cadence adjustment to reduce joint impact, how to screen yourself for mobility and strength gaps, practical drills to start immediately, and guidance on selecting the right shoe for your body and stride—with input from Front Runner Athletics. Attendees will also have the option for a brief one-on-one mobility screening with Dr. Chase after the session.

All runners who show up will be entered into a Run Strong Scholarship Giveaway, with one winner receiving a full 60-minute running evaluation at Bounceback PT plus two follow-up physical therapy sessions and a custom training plan. Runners of all paces and abilities are welcome; participants should run at least once per week and be dealing with some form of running-related pain to get the most value from the workshop.

Registration is free and spots are limited. Interested runners can register through the Facebook event page or comment “RUN” in the original post to receive registration details via direct message.
