Local Thrift Store Launches Community-Wide Resource Initiative
CWC Thrift Store is reaching out to the community to build a comprehensive resource list aimed at helping those in need across the Sequatchie Valley region and beyond.
The thrift store, which serves residents from Bridgeport, McMinnville, Pikeville, Chattanooga, and surrounding areas, is seeking information about local organizations, businesses, churches, and individuals that provide assistance services. The goal is to create an extensive directory that connects vulnerable community members with the support they need.
“We have people that come all the way from Bridgeport, McMinnville, Pikeville, Chattanooga, and everywhere in between,” said a representative from CWC Thrift Store. “With that many eyes and ears everywhere, we figured we could make a pretty good list together.”
The resource list will include organizations and services that assist with a wide range of needs, including transportation, food and hot meals, housing and shelter services, employment opportunities, and educational resources. The pantry is also seeking information about providers of other critical services such as affordable medical and veterinary care, legal aid, clothing, utility bill assistance, and help with household tasks and yard work.
Community members are encouraged to submit information about any legitimate assistance providers in the comments section of the food pantry’s social media post. Whether it’s a nonprofit organization, local business, faith-based institution, or individual volunteer, all suggestions are welcome.
This collaborative effort reflects the food pantry’s commitment to addressing the broader needs of the community beyond food assistance alone.
